Song of the Week - 'New Regime' - Morgan Saint
For those who traverse Sonically Awkward on a semi-regular basis, you'll be very familiar with Morgan Saint's name by now. I have seen her perform live, reviewed her debut EP, and now her song 'New Regime' is her second Song of the Week on SA! When I reviewed her EP 17 Hero, this one, lyrically and production-wise, left a massive impression.
In the chorus, I was instantly gripped by her embrace and owning of being an introvert, one who doesn't need someone to feel whole. She sings: "We are old souls / The type to make you overdose on love / We are lone wolves / The type to feel alone in a crowded room / We are lonely / But we are proud / We are outcasts / But we are brave / We don't need nobody else." If you relate to this chorus, you're going to love this song. If you are more of an extrovert, you'll still love this song. It's OK to be more comfortable on your own, and in this song that is something to cherish.
