Song of the Week - 'Not a Love Song' - Bülow
After a short delay, the latest Song of the Week is here via the Netherlands! Bülow, a refreshingly new artist, released her first single 'Not a Love Song' off of her upcoming EP Damaged Vol. 1 EP, which released at the end of 2017 to a minimal amount of press. That should change, as Megan's hit 'Not a Love Song' features a sound that will remind you of a Charli XCX & VÉRITÉ mash-up. Her vocals are familiar, and her work on this track with producer Mike Wise is fantastic. She touches on the topic of fresh love, and how she's not quite into that at this moment. She is 17, after all.
The song starts off with a light synth and echoing vocals before Megan jumps on the track for the first verse. As the song progresses to the chorus, we are given the true gift of a beautiful drop, with a ringing, pulsing synth and mixed vocals to match. Add in a couple subtle bells and other unique intricate additions, and you've got a great, catchy, irresistible pop song. Stay tuned in 2018 for more from Megan Bülow, and check out her debut 3-song, 8 minute EP at the bottom of the post!
